Is this a yeast infection? Should my boyfriend get treated?

I have never had any type of problem before a couple months ago. I had bad burning and itching down there and a slight discharge, very painfull and irritated. Was given azithromiacin and a strong antibiotic (10 days of it) std test all neg. follow up appt. I still had high white blood cells, within a week all symptoms came back. Went back in, was told I have BV, was treated (7 days) took about 2 weeks for sympyoms to go away, but not completely, still very painfull during (like a tearing sensation and very swollen after) cant even use regular soap, or wipe normal, very sensitive. Looks irritated after washing. doc said no sign of any infection at all, and no sign of yeast infection, but to look for white discharge and returning symptoms. Burning and itching have not returned but did get white discharge, thats and the sensitivity r the only symptoms. What could this be?
