Why is my Zebra finch bald?

It is the time of year for birds to have a really heavy molt, my wee budgie is looking awfully ugly just now lol, depending on how bald it looks it may just be molting but with small birds catching any illness is all about speed so call an avian vet for advice as soon as possible.
