How would a symbolic interactionist explain marriage?

Symbolic Interactionist Theory would focus on micro-level social interactions and symbols to create interactions. The theory argues that people interact through symbols and actions, rather than strictly words. Therefore, marriage symbols would be exemplified, such as a white dress, rings, a church, flowers... etc. Also, the meaning of marriage would be determined mostly by the actions of individual people, from their experiences.
